What is the difference between biokinetics and physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy focuses on diagnosing and treating injuries and conditions through hands-on techniques and modalities like ultrasound or dry needling. Biokinetics, on the other hand, specializes in exercise-based rehabilitation to restore function and improve movement patterns over the long term. Often, these fields complement each other.

Can I do biokinetics even if I am not injured?

Yes! Biokinetics is not only for rehabilitation but also for injury prevention, improving mobility, enhancing athletic performance, and addressing chronic conditions like arthritis or back pain. It’s an excellent option for anyone looking to improve their overall physical well-being.

What does Biokinetics Cost?

Trinity Fitness Namibia is fully registered and licensed Biokinetics Practice.
All biokinetics services are claimable from all major Namibian Medical Aid Providers.
Private rates available on per session or monthly fee basis.

Are biokinetics sessions covered by medical aid?

Many medical aid schemes do cover biokinetics services, but the extent of coverage depends on your specific plan and benefits. It’s advisable to check with your medical aid provider and confirm what is reimbursable before starting your sessions.

How many sessions per week should I exercise?

The ideal frequency depends on your specific rehabilitation needs and goals. Typically, clients attend 2-3 sessions per week to ensure consistent progress. Your biokineticist will design a program that aligns with your recovery pace and physical capabilities.

How long does it take to see results from biokinetics?

Results vary depending on your condition and adherence to the program. Some clients notice improvements in pain and mobility within a few weeks, while others may require several months for significant progress. Regular attendance and following your biokineticist’s advice are key to achieving your goals.

Do I need a referral to see a biokineticist?

No, a referral is not always required. You can book an appointment directly with a biokineticist. However, if you intend on claiming from your medical aid, then you will need a referral from a Doctor, Physioterapist, Chiropractor or other registered medical service providers.
